Balanites roxburghii) commonly called Desert Date Tree, is identified by the farmers of the Sudano-Sahelian zone as a tree whose domestication is a priority in a global fight against desertification. Fully valued by the local tribes, this tree gives fruits consumed as candies, which contain a kernel. Collected by a group of women in Burkina Faso, the almonds are pressed to obtain oil, rich in antioxidants and unsaturated fatty acids.
